It is one of the first questions everyone asks, and there is no simple answer. The price is governed by scope, and it is not possible to give a meaningful price without knowing what the project is actually going to contain.
What is it you are really building?
A presentation website for a local business and an internal case-handling system are both "websites" in everyday speech, but they are wildly different projects. The first is about presenting who you are and making it easy to get in touch. The second is a tool that has to handle data, user access and work processes. The prices for these two are nowhere near each other.
What affects the cost?
The biggest cost drivers are:
- Scope and functionality: the number of pages, sections and features to be built
- Design: whether it is made from scratch or adapted to an existing brand profile
- Integrations: whether the solution has to connect to other systems such as a payment provider, a booking system or APIs
- Backend and database: whether a server is needed to handle logic, user data or dynamic content
- Maintenance and operations: whether you want ongoing updates, hosting and technical support after launch
How pricing works at VargTech
We do not use fixed package prices. After a scoping conversation where we understand what you actually need, we put together a concrete quote tailored to that project. You pay for what you are getting, not for a standard package that almost fits.
It also means we can give honest advice about what is actually needed. Sometimes the answer is a simpler solution than the one you had in mind, and we say so.
What should you watch out for?
Very low prices without a clear description of the delivery are rarely a good sign. It usually means something has been left out, that templates with limited scope are being used, or that additional costs will appear along the way.
Always ask for a quote with a specified scope: what is included, what is not, and what happens if the need changes along the way. A good quote should make it easy to compare and make an informed decision.
If you are unsure what your project really requires, we are happy to have a no-obligation talk to help you settle it.
